Guide To Choosing The Right Mobile Disco.
Mobiles come in all different shape and sizes, and from experience it is very important to choose the right disco to ensure that both you and, more importantly, your guest have a great night.
If you are inviting a wide and varied age group to your function, it is always best to find a DJ who carries a varied selection of music. That way they are able to cater for a wider cross section of your guests, i.e. most of your 'middle-aged' guests may not appreciate banging house or garage music as much as the 'younger' guests.
A good DJ will read the audience and play a selection of popular music from the 50's right up to date in order to keep the dance floor full. An experienced DJ will also cater for requests and any musical preferences from you or your guests.
Most Mobile Disco's Sound & Lighting systems general cater for gathering of between 150 -180 guests. So it is very important to make sure that you book a disco that has an appropriately sized system to suite the number of guest you are expecting. Any increase in the size of system can effect the cost, as there is more equipment to transport and set up, therefore resulting in a longer set up time. As a rule the more people or the bigger the venue, the more power required.
Another thing that can effect the cost is ease of access into the venue. Most good venues have doors near or on the stage allowing the DJ to set up equipment quickly and easily, however some venues are badly designed resulting in the DJ having to carry the equipment over long distances or even up a flight of stairs.
Prices will vary. However, as usual, you get what you pay for. The prices of mobile discos can differ quite considerably, but as a rule what you are paying for is the DJs experience and size of system.
A good mobile Disco will generally require a deposit against a booking, this will reserve the DJ for your event. This booking deposit is generally considered a form of contract between you both, and most will confirm your booking in writing.
I hope this brief guide helps you select the right Mobile Disco for your event.
